How to preload YouTube videos on android phones like Galaxy S2, S3

If you are using newer version of android os like Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean, you can download or preload youtube videos. You can watch them on slow networks as long as you have network signal. This is not useful for offline viewing but It is better if you want to watch videos without any buffering problems.

YouTube introduced preloading of the YouTube videos on android phones. Unfortunately, this feature does not work on android tablets like Nexus 7 or Samsung Tab 2 etc.

How to preload YouTube videos on android phones
1. Make sure you are running android os later than 4.0. These include Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean
2. Update YouTube app to latest version. Open Google Play Store on your phone & search for YouTube, It will display update option if newer version is available.
3. Login to YouTube app & select the video you want to download. Click on the Watch Later icon in the player. See below. It will be added to your watch later queue. Add as many videos you want to the queue.

4. In YouTube app, Go to Settings > Preloading > Check Preload Watch Later option

5. Videos will be preloaded on to your android phone like Samsung Galaxy S2, S3 etc when your phone is being charged & WiFi is available. Make sure to check you have unlimited WiFi plan.

6. You will see green arrow icon next to the video after video is fetched.

You can also preload subscribed youtube videos in the same way. Preloading videos like Olympic videos is great way to catch the action without any buffering issues etc
