Many of us have a box or drawer full of old chargers of our old cell phones. Although the charger may function well, due to special connection types, we often can’t reuse a charger when we switch phones.
But now some of the world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturers have agreed to adopt a new universal standard of phone charger in an effort to be more environmentally friendly.
Many of your favorite phone brands like Apple, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Emblaze Mobile, Huawei Technologies, LGE, Motorola Mobility, NEC, Qualcomm, RIM, TCT Mobile, Texas Instruments, and Atmel have agreed to adopt the standard that can be charged using a single charger.
The technical specifications for the connection are based on the microUSB connector that many mobile phone manufacturers are already using. meaning that dozens of different handsets can be charged using a single plug.
The initiative has many advantages. It makes much easier for us; you no longer have to worry about losing your cell phone charger. It also cuts down on waste since people can reuse their cell phone chargers when they get a new phone.
So now you will be able to charge your mobile phones from anywhere from new common charger and also reduces e-waste because people will not through there old chargers.
With the rise of Smartphone (which are practically computers) and with a microUSB to USB cable can be used for charging and data bridging, reducing the gap between desktops, laptops and Smartphones and creating a more seamless and enjoyable experience for electronic and computer users everywhere. A standardized connection will also mean more peripheral devices compatible with more phones too.
